Bruce Hitchen

Bruce Hitchen has over 20 years experience in corporate communications and multimedia production. His career began in the field of education having worked as an audio-visual coordinator for both, School District 43 and University College of the Fraser Valley in the mid 80's before joining BC TEL in 1987. Bruce held a variety of progressive Corporate Communications positions within BC TEL and TELUS spanning 19 years. He successfully grew TELUS' Media Solutions department to become the largest in-house production group in Western Canada producing over 250 video and communications projects per year. The group was consistently recognized with numerous production and communications awards.

Bruce was the visionary behind teamVision, TELUS' weekly streaming video newscast for employees. The weekly newscast featured a different employee host each week and was streamed to the desktops of TELUS' 24,000 team members across Canada. Bruce was recognized by the International Association of Business Communicators with two Gold Quill Awards for this highly innovative communications tool. Bruce has also been recognized with awards for his work in event management and multimedia production. He holds an Associate in Arts & Sciences Diploma in media production from Capilano College and has training in radio and television broadcasting from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Bruce began Direct Impact Media in the summer of 2006 and serves both production companies and corporate clients in helping achieve their communications goals.
